Day 14 Friday, December 26, 1997Puerto Santo Tomás - Pacific Ocean (Ensenada)Boxing Day. A day to relax, hang out in the fishing village cove, tidy up the ship, and read a lot. At sunset, we take off back towards Ensenada, but due to hard NW winds, our progress is slow. While I'm asleep the decision is made to change course and head directly towards San Diego instead. Deborah and Ashikin get sea sick again, and Andy is feeling pretty queasy. I'm relatively OK, but later in the evening the choppy sea causes me to spill boiling water over my left hand and burn two fingers pretty badly. With Ken's help I bandage them up using a cover of Second Skin (unfortunately, accidentally applied with the protective plastic still on). |
