Day 5    Wednesday, December 17, 1997

Pacific Ocean (Santa Barbara - San Diego)

When I wake up in the morning, we're already down in the Santa Barbara Channel. This is a popular passage ways for ships small and large, and we're accompanied by several big container ships. We try to stay mostly in the center of the channel with the southbound ships on our port and the northbound ones on our starboard to not get in their way.

Time passes slowly, ever so slowly. All day long, we're heading towards Anacapa Island that we can see in the distance, and in the afternoon, we finally pass by it.
